Ethical and Environmental Issues
Ten years working at Ethical Consumer magazine have given me a thorough grounding on a range of ethical issues. My specialist areas include: ethical fashion, green lifestyle changes, marine conservation and ethical consumerism in general.
The Co-operative Movement & Social Enterprises
I also write and provide services to the Co-operative Movement. I am a member of the Openspace workers’ co-operative and work closely with a number of Manchester’s social enterprises. I understand the pressures of being a small organisation and can assist with communication strategies, and providing copy in plain English.
Mind & Body
I am a trained life coach and have a good knowledge of cognitive behavioural techiques. I practice mindfulness and so have first-hand experience of applying mindfulness to daily life. I’ve had health articles published in a range of consumer titles covering everything from the power of massage, to “ten minutes to better health”.
Travel & Diving
I’m an experienced scuba diver, qualified PADI Divemaster and have logged over 500 dives in countries across the world. I worked for a year for Blue Ventures managing marine conservation expeditions in Madagascar between 2007 and 2008. This experience has given me a unique insight into diving and conservation tourism. I have had travel articles and photos published in a range of magazines, websites and contributed to the Footprint Body & Soul Escapes, published in 2007.
Feature Writing
I’ve written articles for a range of consumer titles. These include: Glamour Magazine, The Mirror, The Guardian, The Independent, Women’s Health, Here’s Health, Global Adventure magazine, Big Issue in the North, Red Pepper , Asian Diver, Girl About Town, Top Sante, Health & Fitness magazine.
